Four cards presented themselves for this year's collective reading: the Chariot, the Seven of Wands, the King of Pentacles, and the Sun. I was immediately struck by how much warmth and action they offered. This feels unsurprising when I consider the themes of the last two years. Last year’s cards presented the theme of protection and urged us to investigate our relationship with power, while 2023 encouraged us to develop our discernment. Armed with these skills, it's no wonder that 2025 is asking us to GO, to move forward, and to take action.
Right out of the gate in this reading, we’re met with the Chariot card, which depicts a person in a chariot pulled by two bulls. I don't think there’s a clearer signal to get moving, be bold, and access the most confident parts of yourself. It’s followed by the Seven of Wands, which showcases a person taking up space, arms outstretched, defending their surroundings. This card’s placement signals to me that our actions will be rewarded, as the Seven of Wands is a card of faith and strength.
When I consider this reading as a whole, it reminds me not to move in haste. We should be thoughtful, rooted, and confident in the choices and decisions we make throughout the year. Just because action is required does not mean common sense should be abandoned. As you move through this year and face the choices presented to you, ask yourself:
- Why am I taking this action?
- Have I examined the roots of the beliefs that are moving me toward this particular path?
- Can I face myself and my community in the daylight if I make this choice?
By all means, move and make changes, but ensure they’re in alignment with your values and contribute to the betterment of our community (The Sun). For those still hiding from themselves or making decisions based solely on what others may think, consider taking some time to get comfortable with yourself before hopping into your chariot to move forward. This process only works (King of Pentacles) if we’re being honest and genuine.
Sometimes I like to reach for my oracle cards for additional confirmation regarding the collective reading, and it was affirmed through two cards: 0:2 Conclude, which features the word “Go” in the shape of two arrows, and 3:1 Age, which reminds us to consider community.
What differences can we let be so we are successful in the actions we need to take?
For 2025, I think we can continue to work with the mineral Bloodstone, alongside Carnelian— a gemstone of courage, confidence, and action. May these two stones aid us in being bold when it matters most, and in protecting us while we do so.
